Ursuline Education Network Student Retreat
January 11-14, 2024
Camp Abbey Retreat Center
Covington, LA

Hosted in conjunction with Ursuline Academy of New Orleans and Our Lady of Prompt Succor Shrine. 

Ursuline High School female students are invited to participate in a spiritual and historical retreat which focuses on the application of St. Angela’s instructions as a compass in our world and everyday life. Graciously supported by a grant from the Ursulines of Cincinnati, Faithfully and Joyfully will include participation with Ursuline students from UEN member schools around the country.  Retreat facilitator, Jane Cruthirds, is the Director of Mission Formation at Sacred Heart Schools in Louisville, KY. A former theology teacher at Sacred Heart, Jane has a passion for the charism of St. Angela, and was a collaborator in developing the Ursuline Charism course taught at Sacred Heart Academy. 

Schools are encouraged to send up to 4 students and 2 adults. Lodging will be at the Camp Abbey Retreat Center, where all housing, meals,  retreat supplies and transportation between the retreat center and Ursuline Academy of New Orleans and the Shrine of Our Lady of Prompt Succor will be provided. The cost for the three day retreat is $100 per person, (student or adult) and does not include travel to/from New Orleans.  

NOTE: Retreat will take place during the Martin Luther King Holiday Weekend, beginning Thursday and concluding Sunday by noon. Timeline is provided below for travel planning, New Orleans is on central time.  

  • Thursday January 11  – 6pm estimated arrival of retreatants to Camp Abbey.
  • Friday January 12-  Ursuline Academy and The Shrine of Our Lady of Prompt Succor
  • Saturday January 13 – Camp Abbey Retreat Center
  • Sunday January 14 – Camp Abbey Retreat Center, departure by noon.
